MOT’d so now on the road.
Rides very well and well pleased with the outcome.
I think I may be keeping this for a while...
The ZZR1400 will be polished and put up for sale...

Good read and congrats on the work you did and the perseverance to clear a few hurdles. You've got a nice bike now that you really know your way around. Enjoy :thumb2

Hurry up and do another one Neil please :D

Thanks in advance etc

Thanks for all the kind comments.
No, I will not be doing another one for a while, as I need to finish building my house which I am being told is more important :blagblah

I have enjoyed the challenge and have jumped into the deep end of GS ownership, but think I will stay a while.

Thanks to all for the info and advise. :thumb2

Do you think my ‘old’ and broken 2015 engine is worth anything?
It has the broken valve and scored piston top but everything else is intact and has starter motor, gearbox, clutch etc.
Tried a few breakers for a price but no replies as yet.
Just a thought.

Take all of the guts out of the motor , clean and rebuild the outer casings , have a metal frame built around it with 4 feet and then 4 uprights to take a glass top and make it into a coffee table

You are on my wavelength, but the Mrs has different ideas on furniture!

Thanks.

A dealer picked it up today.

Helps offset the costs....

Reviving an old thread trying to find answers.
I need to replace my r1200gsa LC engine (K51) from 2015 after milling up my clutch plates. Particels spread through the whole block.
Found a second hand block from a r1200gs (not adventure = k50), same buildyear.

Can I swap out and use the K50 engine (clutch, engine, gearbox) on a K51 frame? I guess it wil physsicly fit, but can I expect it running of will there be problems with the ECU?

Kind regards,
Dirk (Belgium)
