No9 comes out through the clutch basket or at least did when I changed mine. I can measure it when home as I have a spare but won’t be home until Sunday
I think that just goes to show what a compromise the LC designers made regarding clutch actuation when they re-positioned the clutch to the front of the engine. I suspect thermal expansion of this very long set of rods may have something to do with the way the clutch bite point is not very consistent on these bikes, and I don't suppose these rods are made of special low expansion materials, or one of them has a negative coefficient of expansion to cancel out the others! I have definitely experienced clutch issues in hot conditions with delayed engagement causing loss of engine braking on downshifts.
Actuating the clutch through such a long three piece rod just seems so Heath Robinson. Surely they could have engineered an actuator that operates at the front of the engine? I guess the problem is that space for wheel clearance is very tight at the front of the bike and they don't want the engine to have to go further back in the chassis to allow more room at the front.
