I had always admired the GS, never sat on one let alone ride one. On Tuesday the misses and i were looking for a used car, we went to the BMW dealer looking at cars, i saw the R1200 GS and asked the guy if i could sit on it, it had the lowered seat.... it was a little tall but not bad....ummm...., we didn't buy the car... (went to Audi instead). when i got home i looked up the R1200 GS on line and noted that it could be supplied lowered - that was it.....!! scraped together all my savings, emptied piggy banks etc and called the dealer, i ordered the R1200 GS the next day... Cant wait!!! now then.... i must need new boots, helmet, jacket.....

The Caberfeidh, on the right as you drive into the village, we get a lot of motorcycle ride-outs in the summer - there's a car park right next to the restaurant.

ahh yes...the car.. used A4 for eer indoors, can't go wrong with an A4, i new i should have stayed at home though, she was looking at a TT..... i was looking at the 3.0TDI Cabrio Quattro hiding in the corner of the car park... we got the A4, she happy too.


Love the site no doubt i will be spending a bit of time on here before the birth, expecting April 20th.

Excellent well done & enjoy, i'm at the other end of the spectrum being 6'6" but my missus is only 5'3" & she has had a go on mine without problems, (just a short ride for her though).

Welcome. I bought my GS on impulse 7 years ago now and haven't regretted it. Absolutely love the bike.

If you've used up all your savings then you're going to be in trouble. Do not under any circumstances look at the Touratech Catalogue, nor the Wunderlich one. Nippy Normans website is to be avoided as is the Vendor section on here and many other websites too numerous to mention.

Enjoy your GS, I certainly have.
