Orkney really is a lovely place. Was in the VW camper, stayed at the Council run campsite at Ness Point

Great escape tune was in my head on that wee trolly. Brewery is worth a visit, so was the Hoxa battery.

Yes, the Tomb of the Eagles is a truly fascinating place.

Just got back from spending the weekend in Orkney, stayed in a guest house (Karrawa very nice) in Kirkwall. The weather was crap, got to visit a lot of the tourist stuff. We found the place a bit depressing and bleak (the weather didn't help) The Italian chapel was nice.
Left home on Thursday afternoon, stopped with friends in Edinburgh, then B+B (Firhall in Grant Street, excellent) in Grantown on Spey on Friday. Ullapool on Monday (Dromnan B+B very good) and back to Edinburgh last night. At least the weather picked up from Monday afternoon so we had a crackin' ride to Ullapool, then for the rest of the trip south.
