Happy Chritmas and New Year

Dear All,
Just wanted to say a word of thanks to all those who have shopped with us this year and hope you have a merry christmas.
We hope we can look forward to your continued support and treasured custom in 2009.

Safe and happy holidays..

John - Gearpac

2009 prices

I am afraid to say, that due to our suppliers having put their prices up, as we clear our stock and renew lines, our prices will have to follow suit too if we are stay inbusiness. We will continue to be as competative as we can though.

So don't leave it too late to grab your gear for the summer.

Tents

I am presently down to my last Exped Andromeda and Venus II tents. Have had a few enquiries, so thought it only fair to warn folks who have been asking.

Had a run on shrink bags for pannier liners. So sorry, out of the 22ltr ones for a short while. Hopefully have some more in soon.

Tents and Matts

Update. Only the Venus II left now instock, tent wise.

Price Rises Due Shortly

Bad news I am afraid.. just re-stocking some items shortly and prices are about to rise on the rackpacks.
The continueing drop of pound v euro is starting to impact heavily I am afraid.

I will continue to do my best on prices, but I cannot keep taking the hits so have to pass the latest on I am afraid.

Some good news though, I have a set of Ortlieb Waterproof Panniers coming soon too, for anyone who fancies a complete waterproof set of panniers at a fraction the cost of a metal setup.

Cheers

John - Gearpac

John

Are you able to supply the 89 litre Ortlieb rackpack in yellow ????

If so how much is it?

Cheers.

Ian

Hi Rocks im looking for an ortlieb bag in yellow,i want it to go across the seat and rest on the pannier tops, not sure what sizes they come in?your advice would be very welcome.............:Motomartin

I use ortileb et all on the yacht ........a bit heavy and expensive for pannier liners.............so I found some exped 50 litre ones for £10 a pop

They are yellow but wouldnt use them externally........supposed to be waterproof but a bit lightweight .........ideal as pannier liners though.

Bags and stock.

Cherokee, sent you a PM..

Boon, I do various types of bags from Ortlieb and others, some are perfectly fine for external use, some are only good for the occasional use externally.

If anyone is unsure, give me call and I will go through the options.

Update: Just had the re-supply of rackpacks and other items. Including Ortlieb Waterproof Panniers. Something worth considering as an alternative to aluminiums.

Yellow

Seems yellow is suddenly popular again. Temporarily out of yellow 89ltr rackpacks. Should have some more in shortly, email me if you want me to let you know when they come in.

Cheers

John

in and out

Well the yellow rackpacks came in, and they went out.. seems people have gone all grey and yellow.
Will have some more yellow 89ltre rackpacks shortly, though out of grey 49s for a bit, supplier is waiting for more to come into the country.

I also have some new tent pegs from Exped which are a lovely anodized orange, very light weight and come with a zipped peg bag, just waiting for the press photos to come through before they go up on the shop.
These are general ground pegs, fairly similar to the v-stake hard ground pegs, but have a lovely little notch in the middle of them, so when you camp in snow or soft sand you can bury the peg horizontally, with the guy line sitting in the notch.

Anyways, they are blooming tough and hoping to be a reasonable price.. watch this space for more info!

Also got some lovely waterproof/dustproof boxes for the likes of MP3 players, cameras, med kits etc anything you fragile you want to keep the water and dust out of and don't want crushed. Look very similar to small pelli cases.
Again, will be up on the site shortly once I get the photos sorted.

And fainally.. I have some Exped Tele-compression bags.. like the standard bags, waterproof, but with compression straps, not across the width like the ones I have up now, but these compress along the length like a sleeping bag sack for those who wanted a waterproof cover for their sleeping bags.

Hope to have these up by the end of the week. :thumb

New items

Well, have a couple of new items in stock;

Exped V-profile Pegs

And Waterproof Boxes by "Outdoor Products".. very similar to Pelli Cases, but without the price tag or size ranges. But these two sizes I have are great for those precious electronic items you need to keep water and dust out of as well as stop being crushed when you pack them.

We also recieved a few of these today, Expeds new Telecompression bags, which have a handy valve in the base you litterally can squeeze ALL the air out now.

I have also had more 89ltr Rackpacks come in, so they are now back up on the shop. Still waiting for the grey 49ltr ones, but I have all the others in stock.

....just bought a MASSIVE 89L Ortlieb bag from this guy.......Great communication and very fast delivery.....Recommended.....:thumb2 :)

Down Sleeping Mats

Just had some more down sleeping mats arrive. Up on the shop now.

Also, I will be away over this coming bankholiday so if you call the office and no one answers please leave a number and I will get back to you next week.

Squishy Bowls

Also have some new "Squishy Bowls" in and other items from Guyot Designs.
These are rather funky and I have to admit was a bit scepticle about them, till I put a set of the test.
They are new out this year and will be stocking more of their ranges as they become available.

More bad news..!

Hate to be the bearer of more bad news. But in this reccession we are in, my main supplier has just anounced another set of price increases, as of the 1st of May, due to the continuing drop of the pound v euro and US dollar.

As I clear my current stock items and replace them I will be forced to increase prices myself. This on top of the April Royal Mail postage increased has lead to a bit of a double whammy!

I am already looking for full time work myself now, with the hopes of keeping Gearpac ticking over as a side project for now. But with each price rise it becomes more and more difficult to do so.
Competition is fierce in this area and I try to do my best on prices that I can. But unlike the high streets I cannot afford loss-leaders or zero profit ranges.

From the way things were looking earlier in the year I have been pleasently surprised to still be here and supplying you guys with kit. And for that I am truly thankfull. For it has been the support and costom of my fellow GSers, that kept Gearpac alive thus far.

I will be aiming to keep my prices as competitive as I possibley can for you as they cahnge.
So here is hoping for a nice summer of good weather and lots of camping!

Rackpack - colours back in..

Just had some more rackpack bags come back in today. So those who enquired last week, should find them up on the site now.

Cheers

John.

Last week..

Just a quite note to appologise for some delays to orders last week. I had a slight hitch with my office PC which took a few days to sort and meant I was not able to post out all the orders.
The issue is now fixed and normal service has resumed. Cheers. John

Just ordered and recieved an 89ltr red rack pack (much bigger than I thought). Really quick and ggod service, Thanks
