Just did a quick search...but cant seem to see any other threads about GSA over running when going down the gears???

Is this unique to my 03 GSA or is just my ham fisted driving?

It usually happens just as ur coming up to the lights or a tight r/l hander. Just as u think the engine breaking is bring u to a halt, it decides to run on a little further.....

Suggestions/Comments please.....as its due to for its 18k service in the next week or so.

If it's what I think you mean then I get that. I think it's where the fuel injection starts to kick back in after being on a closed throttle and not injecting. As the revs drop it gets to a point where it decides that it needs to start putting fuel in to keep the engine running.

On my 1150, it does the "lurch" at about 1,500 - 2,000 rpm on the overrun. Got so used to it I forgot all about it, till now.:D

Glad to hear that I'm not alone !!!!

Should the fuel injection mapping not be fixed/adjusted by the dealers???

I drive all year round and i have lost the count the number of times recently this has nearly put me on the floor!!!

Hmm, tricky one that. You're limited to the amount of control a fuel injector has. Cars do this too but due to their engine inertia the bump is a little smoother. With cars the trick is to actually keep fuel flowing while the engine revs drop but that leads to an increased roll out and I would imagine a bike engine would be more sensitive to that.

Do this...

You know its going to lurch judder *uck about just when you don't want it to, so blip the throttle whilst braking a little this should tell it who the boss is.
Day two of onwnership (last year) saw me and my pillion with a dead engine just as we were about to engage retro drive and pull out into a main road in Matlock. Now theres a place to almost drop yer pride and joy ...and the bike come to that!

So lesson learnt, I now show the monacled mountaineer that I do indeed know better than it!
