Pacific North West National Parks and Yellowstone.

Can you tell me two things.
How can I contact Mikey boy from Leicester.
How much would it cost me to take my bike to the USA.
I'm going in six weeks for a trip on Route 66 or what's left of it.
Route 66 then up a bit of 101 then over to Fallon ( my dad lives there) and on Route 66 going north to Monument Valley and back south to get on 66 at flagstaff. IV been to yellow stone last year

Send me an e-mail to [email protected] and I'll let you have Mikeyboy's number and other info requested. Mikeyboy is just finishing off prepping my old girl for this trip so don't bug him too much:thumb

just wondering as i have just filled in the quote form and printed it out. did you send it off with debit card No: etc. and did you fill in the breakdown cover form?

what cover did you go for by the way?

I did it with them too. I went for the fullest cover possible.
I printed the form and filled it in then scanned it and the credit card (the paperwork says you have to do that) then e-mithered it all off to them.
I got a reply the same day saying they'd process it much nearer the time but that it all looked in order.
I also filled in the breakdown form the same day but haven't heard anything about that yet.

I'm still umming and saying about the marine cover tbh. At 2% it works out at £560 for me which is a bit steep. I spoke to Chris earlier today and he's going to see if they can do 1.5%.
If they stick with 2% I'll probably not bother & take my chance on nothing going wrong. At 1.5% I'm far more likely to go with it.

I went with fernet. Got confirmation that they had both insurance and breakdown cover. Policy to be issued 30 days before trip.

Went for middle of the road, about £300 with breakdown cover

I won't be taking out the shipping insurance, have to draw the line somewhere and AFAIK Chris hasn't lost any bikes yet:D

300 quid? should that be dollars? if not i'm getting something wrong on my quote form.

i'll be sorting it with Fernet shortly and i too will be not going with the shipping insurance at 2% probably even at 1.5% i'll leave it.
risk it for a biscuit as they say :D

All fine. Went for top cover and breakdown. Buy US and get Canada too.
Papers to follow as above.

Mine came in at about £355,.
Sterling, not dollars.

from fernet

"processing it the end of July or first of August and then get all the paperwork emailed to you at this address. We also got the request for US & Canada roadside and will start it on the 1st of September (same day as the insurance),"

Final dry run of packing completed.

All the necessary clothing fits nicely into the 2 panniers leaving the top box for sundry bits and pieces.

Sooooooooorted. :thumby:
