Have any of you guys re-painted an 1150 RT
or an 1100 for that matter
or know any one who has

I was pondering how much it would cost
assuming I take all the panels off and re fit them myself

The reason I ask is that I have a red one

I have all ways wanted a black one :D

A lot, I took a yellow Hugger to a local painter a few years ago as I too wanted it black to match our Black GS. "£90 Sir". "No I don't need it to be Concours standard, it's only a hugger" and in any case it cost less than that to buy" !!. " Well buy a Black one " which I did !!.

I would suggest taking off one of the main side panels and punt it round a few paint shops.Prices can vary a lot if you are paying cash.I think most people just touch in damage rather than respray as the strip down puts them off.

Our Gee, are your coachworks up there having a laugh !!! I got two side panels and the front fairing done in metalic blue on my old Triumph Trophy last year for £100 and yes they did the prep as well, all I had to do was put the decals back on.

Yeh, you are probably right Keith. On reflection I don't think they wanted to do it so priced themselves out.
