Pannier frames

Just got my combined pannier frames and luggage rack back from the chromers;6 months and £400. Lovely job though.
Buggered if I can work out how to fit them though. Do I need to remove the rear subframe? Bike is R60/5 SWB 1973

Yes, exactly the same.
Mine were original to the bike but not fitted when I bought it, so I’ve never seen them on. They were a bit rustier than yours too.

Let me know how you get on fitting them. I'm keeping mine as they are so they match the rest of the bike..

I think if you remove the rear lamp and indicators you should get it on ok
Possibly remove the seat to make things easier

Thanks Mikey! I’ll give that a try tomorrow. My dodgy knee has had enough for today I see the top mounting point goes to the outside of the shock bolt, not the inside. That will help!

I think you will find that the top mounting goes on the inside! Look again at the picture and you will see that it is looking down the rh side of the bike and you can see the rear brake switch at the left side of picture. You don't have to take the top shock bolts out altogether just pull them back flush, the head of the bolt is On the outside normally.
