Had a quick search but not the info i'm after.
Has any one got the approx volume for the standard Vario panniers and the alloy Adventure ones. Bm just to quote load/weight capacity but all the others seem to give a volume so difficult judge size if I get aftermarket ones.
Thanks.

Think outside the box, Ted.

Companies sell bags to fit in the panniers, what volume(s) are the bags advertised at?

Google is your friend.

Good thinking..
unfortunatly just googled and only find that BM bags say the panniers they fit, not the volume of the bags :blast
all the others, TT, Givi, Metal Mule, SW Motec etc give bag & pannier volume

According to an old copy of "Bike" from when the 12 was launched.

Right hand pannier 37 - 46 litres

Left hand pannier 28 - 37 litres

HTH

But only obtainable if you're packing marbles. The Varios really are quite small and the BMW bags best avoided too if you're after decent space.

All 3vario boxes will carry 56 cans of beer.:thumb2

Hi Ian. Went to the NEC outdoor and all things camping show last weekend. got one of these. Many thanks for the offer though.

Looks like the trip has developed a bit as well, added Turkey to the itinery :augie Current estimate is 11/12000 miles
Shades of 2006 baltic trip.... ended up in Ukraine :blast
Call in for a cuppa next time your this way..

Good choice Ted, looks like a good un.mine is indeed a Robens too. :thumb Similar size but traditional dome tent, greater headroom means you can just about stand up and put your trousers on . Can easily sit inside it in on a full size camping chair and make a brew, eat a meal etc whilst under cover but outside of the 'bedroom'. Good tents.

To help out, I thought I'd fill my panniers with water, measuring how much I put in. So far, one Vario pannier has taken 500 litres.

I think they might not be waterproof :blast
