Any thoughts?, i'm in the process of replacing paralever bearings on my 1150gs, BMW have quoted £36 + postage for the bearings.

I ride off road on a regular basis KTM450, and go through wheel bearings every few months or so (mud, water, crap) and buy a few sets at a time from a local bearing dealer a lot cheaper that I can buy from the local bike dealers.

The question is, do I use bearings supplied from BMW or use the normal dealer?

Would they the same quality?

Would I be paying extra for the privalage of buying from BMW?

Surely 336 isent too much?, they will last for ever, can't you get sealed bearings for the wheels every few months sounds ridiculous arn't these things supposed to go off road?.

ye thanks for that guys, the bearing on one side is on its way out, so will replace both.

Tried sealed bearing on the ktm, it all depends on the terrain your on, I normally ride quite wet boggy muddy arears, and also give the bike a lot of abuse about once a week full day, in other words it gets hammered
