Hello all..again :D :D
One quick question, when I hit bumps or ride over small holes I feel my rear end like someoone is pulling it to the side or like I am lightly sliding, is that a Paralever behaviour (BMW R1150GS 2002 Model)?
The feeling is very light (Not like a car is pulling you or something :D:D ) but definetely there.
The mechanic who checked my bike, mentioned everything was ok, (and I am not worrying actually since I don't feel the bike is not working properly) just a small question regarding the paralever :)

That doesn't sound normal. Do you mean in a straight line or leaned over in a bend? If you hit big bumps in a bend then the high unsprung mass of the rear end comes into play but you still shouldn't feel anything like sideways movement.

Have you checked that your rear rebound damping is set high enough? If not, that can give weird handling, particularly when heavily loaded. Or that the rear tyre pressure is correct? Or are you using knobbly tyres?

I know how you greeks like your mums - is she riding side saddle on the back ??

Nope I have the same feeling even on straight lines! But yes the tires are f****g old (Anakee's I saw the manufacture date is 2006 :eek: ) they do feel unstable, and I was thinking that prolly thats the reason (the slip feels as the rear tires slight sleeps away) but thought asking if this could be related to paralever (thats the first BMW i ever had LOL, previous bike -still in the garage- is a Honda CBR 1000RR :D:D )

Sliders

Put it on the centre stand and check for side play in the paralever bearings or and swinging arm, should be n side play at all what about rear tyre pressure?. Even if it's only flat at the bottom it will cause problems.

Not a bearing problem! :bounce1:bounce1

Anakees ...

... or at least Anakee 2's are very sensitive to tyre pressure, there is a thread here all about it. A little trial and error using different TP's over the same route could be worth your while :thumb2

Sound like the tyre. Once over about 50% of the wear the rear end will become more "weavy" especially when lent onto the ridge of wear near the edge. The contact patch and profile of the tyre changes greatly on GS tyres due to the extra tread depth so allowing much more profile change.

When you put a new tyre on it will fell like a different bike.:D Always does with me. Just replaced mine.:thumb2

Replaced with Tourance EXP :) hehe feels a lot better, giving them a spin though till they "break in" and then getting back for them! :)
Damn I can't get used the light feeling of the front though, my CBR feels really aggressive :comfort:comfort
