Part Number ?

I have been trying to find the part number of the final drive seal for a '99 R1100GS .... but can't I find it - anyone ?

2nd question - do you just prise the leaking one out or is there some special trick/tool/technique I need to know ? Screwdriver + hammer standing by ready for action

Assuming your taking about the big one. Don't use either a hammer or a screw driver you'll feck the face the seal sits against.

Either get a seal puller or a self tapping screw and screw it into the seal and pull it out using pliers

If its leaking, have you checked the bearing? I had a seal leak at 50,000kms changed the bearing left the seal, both are still ok at 110,000kms, maybe not the seal?

Bearing looks good - according to what I can see. All rivets in place and there was no metal showing when I drained the oil - just a bit of black sludge which I think is rubber from the seal. The bike hasn't been used much in the past 12 months and after a blast the other week I parked it up and came back yesterday and saw the leak.... I reckon it's just the seal.

Uh Oh just as I thought we had the break through we have 2 numbers .... thanks guys 33 127 663 482 or 33 121 241 938.... ? Are they off different bikes ?
In any case it's a deal closer than I was a few hours ago - at least I can search on some part numbers and try and source one.... somewhere other than the local B#W stealer.

Are you after the dimensions? That's a different request - the part number is BM so you can't search for it as it'll only give you BMW results.

Well mine (33 121 241 938) was bought with the bearing of a guy on ebay who'd bought them as spares but never fitted them. From memory it was from an 1150 (although I could be wrong) but I believe all 11xx's use the same sized seal. I've just debagged mine and it's moulded in size is 85X110X10 which I'd bet is the same as the other part number.
