Part Number ?

Motorworks? £17.

Are you after the dimensions? That's a different request - the part number is BM so you can't search for it as it'll only give you BMW results.

Which one ? My seal has BMW 7 663 482 CFW 85 110-10 stamped on it. Maybe I should just get onto Motorworks and give the my bike details and ask them to post it on to me.

Ah, well that's saved me a potential mare if the spare seal (I believe for an 1150) that I've been carrying round for my 1100 won't actually fit

I wonder if the bearing is the same?

OK - just dug a bit deeper after having no joy with oilhead part numbers - my 'spare' seal:
33 12 1 241 938
is from an R100 airhead paralever :blast

Good job this thread prompted me to take a look before I needed it

As far as I know, the bearing is the same though - just need to buy the correct seal.

Well Matt, that has saved me from potential embarassment too, anybody need a seal for an 1150 ?

Stewart

I am glad it wasn't me just being a total numpty - at least I checked before buying the wrong seal .....:augie
Cheers guys :thumb

I also recall StEptoe writing that the dealership was often cheaper for parts than third party suppliers, I believe it was regarding these final drive output side seals and bearings.

Uh Oh just as I thought we had the break through we have 2 numbers .... thanks guys 33 127 663 482 or 33 121 241 938.... ? Are they off different bikes ? :duno

What is odd, is that both the part numbers qouted list seals of the same dimensions.

Is the newer seal a double lip?

Dunno :nenau

Turns out mine (33 12 1 241 938) is for an airhead but It took me by surprise to learn from Steptoe above that 1100 and 1150 seals are different and yet they're all the same dimensions (even my airhead one).

Just out of interest, I'd like to know what the differences are between the 1100 and the 1150 seals but I guess without comparing them (and fitting them as Steptoe points out above) it's unlikely I'll find out...
