Everytime I switch on my PC, the clock seems to have set itself to any time other than the proper one, even though I reset it.

What can be done to alleviate this please ????

Bios/clock backup battery, rechargable battery or capacitor on the motherboard may need to be replaced-hence losing its settings. Or Im talking bollocks. :D

Look on the mother board. There will be a large(ish) watch type battery. Replace it.

Don't whatever you do go to pc world to buy one. They'll charge you a fortune.
Get one off ebay for about a quid.
