Is it possible to get some sort of linky thing that will allow me to watch streamed progs/youtube stuff on my telly?

The PC is upstairs and the telly is downstairs.

I ain't bothered about loads of functions, as long as I can watch stuff on the telly...on me sofa.

Any (cheapish) ideas, chaps?

The media streamers I've seen have always been quite dear about the 250 mark, you maybe better off trying to get a cheap Playstation3 to do the streaming for you ?

the PS3 has other advantages of being able to play BBCiPlayer (which as far as I know the Xbox360 doesn't)

A lot of graphics cards have TV out (via scart usually) ports....I've got two on mine.
You could put one of those in (good excuse to upgrade your Grphx card as well) then you could do the broadcast thing with a wireless video sender....No idea how much it would cost you though :(

PS PC screens on TV's never look very good......the definition isn't there and the resolution of the screen doesn't match the output from the PC , though That's based on old -tech experience and it may be completely different now with these new fangled HD Tv's :nenau

Does the TV out on the graphics card have sound as well or would you need a line out on the sound card as well to go into some wireless sender ?

I must admit my son's PS3 can receive streaming video over the wireless connection and it's a bit jumpy, where as if you hard wire it into the hub the image is nice and smooth, it maybe worth keeping in mind if going down the wireless route.

I only mention the PS3 as an option since in my view it gives you more for your money, as in able to receive streamed media from a PC go on line and do on demand TV (BBCiPlayer) and a Bluetooth player to boot.

above is a link you find of use

I use a PS3 + a Qnap NAS (it streames video and audio to the PS3 over the home network). Awesome.
