Petrol Smell

I've noticed whenever I ride at a reasonable rate and braking slightly heavy I get a strong smell of petrol.

I've checked around the seal and at (what I think are) breather pipes by the left hand foot peg and cannot find the source or any signs of leakage. The bike is going back to the dealer on Saturday for them to look at as it seems to be getting more noticeable.

It does seem worse with more fuel in the tank - I am curious if anyone else has experienced it and if so what the cause was?

The bike is a 63 plate GS.

I had an issue with my 13 plate GS. The fuel filler cap seal came loose and once fell into the next of the tank! So I would check that it isn't loose.

The seal is intact and looks fine and there is no pooling under the filler that I can see.

The mystery has been cleared up - fuel has been escaping from where the tank meets the filler neck.

New tank needed.
