Hi, just recently started to get a slight wiff of petrol from my 1200GS. I use the bike 4-5 times a week. No petrol leaks that I can detect.
Anyone had experience of the same, or any ideas.
Mike

think you may find

you have posted in the pipe and slippers section, maybe someone will move it to the 1200gs before there is too much piss taking!:D

Too late.....

A whiff of petrol....from an internal combustion engine....get outta here!

Come on lads, pile in.

Could be on eof two things:
Obvious one = you haven't shut the fuel cap properly - I kept doing this on mine when it was new - needs a firm push till it clicks
Next up = there are a few folk who have had fuel pump problems, ususally requiring a new O ring somewhere.
If its not the first then you'd better head fo rthe dealers...

I keep my 1200RT in the garage and the smell of petrol is just to much . Dealer can not find any leaks etc . Makes no difference if the tank is full or empty . Now that I have seen those pictures I am worried .

Yes - had that all the time I had the bike. Most likely just the smell from the tank breather. Nothing to worry about but check all the fuel lines.
