Has anyone got one of these?

How do you rate it if you have.

I'm going to have a look at them on Saturday but would apreciate your comments if you've worn one :)

Really comfy, looks fairly trekkie, not enormously warm in really cold weather but very good for it's main purpose...which is:-

...... under a leather jacket keeps you just warm enough on the road whilst affording you the bliss of not getting all hot and steamed up when stopping for ten minutes to water the pony, check the tire pressures, kick the GPS or argue with a jobsworth etc.

For some reason women seem to think it's a high fashion garment and forever seem to want to 'borrow' it.

PS There is a design defect with the detachable sleeve attachments which have 'wandering' zips in the armpit area. Stitch 'em down if you are not overly beholden to the detachability requirement.

Had one for about 18 months. Rate it very highly indeed. Wear it all year round (unless decently warm weather); copes remarkably well with variations. Found it pretty warm - normally just with a shirt under my jacket.

Hardly used the heated vest since I got it (but most of my cold weather rides have been limited to a max of about 2 hours).

got an older version phase change jacket, without removable sleeves, and it really can absorb some heat - almost keeps you cool for a bit.

Must admit to prefering the electric waistcoat though, especially on really cold or wet days.

I think I'm sold on one. £105 for an inner jacket will take a bit of getting over though.

Anyone know of a dealer discounting them at the moment?

I've got one of these - it's ok , not fantastic, bit overpriced at the amount your looking at - got mine on here, second hand £50 ,

wouldn't pay £100, it's not worth it

You've never paid retail price for anything Steptoe :D

I'll have a ponce around in one at the dealers and see wether I can get my head around the cost

:)

and does it have anything to do with star trek?

Yes, a BMW dealer beams 105 notes out of you pocket in to the Starship Fatherland ;)

I was sitting outside yesterday for about 6 hours (rifle shooting coaching not motorcycling) and it was NOT a warm day (peaked at about 6C I think with a North wind).

I was using my phase change jacket and once again I realised how good it is. The problem is its deceptive because its so unobtrusive. Its only after a day like yesterday when I realise I never got cold apart from my face and fingers or days with a few temperature changes when I realise I never got hot or cold that I really appreciate it.

They are expensive though and it is well worth looking round for discounts, etc. I can't match Steptoe's price but I did find mine for £70. New though :)

Where from?

Where do you get this stuff. I'm looking for a replacement for a fleece that I usually wear.
Is BM the ony way to get hold of this?

Skippy.

Von Spidi have a PCM touring outfit which might just look suitably GS under poor lighting.
