This event has a loyal following on here.
You all likely know the score by now.
If not the attached entry form will put you right.
Also attached is a GPX file that should load directly into your GPS thingie.

The GPX file also contains the 3 additional Ulster locations for the BMW Ulster club’s Photo Rally. https://sites.google.com/site/bmwulstersection/newsandevents/2013photographicrally It is worth reaching out a bit further & incorporating that event also.

The official printed forms as handed out in Glasson have a slight error for point 12 – the N9 has been downgraded to the R448 but it is the same road really – a rose by any other name would smell as sweet.

Are you still standing there with that blank look on your face - be getting on with it & have a bit of fun.

Hi All,

I thought I will beat everyone to it this year and completed the 27 sites by Friday lunch time and also got time to catch the 15:10 Ferry back to the UK. I will be posting the photos soon once I have had some decent sleep.

Was quite great rides and the weather was not too bad. I will advise people to wait though for better weather as some of the tracks will require GS to navigate. The snow on Tuesday nearly put a damper on my progress (Will post picture sooin)

Gerry and his crew has done us proud again this year.

The photos might not be great but I guess it gives a true reflection of the conditions when I get to the sites. Just try and make sure you do not get to any of them at night.

I am getting to enjoy doing it in the winter time as there are less people on the road and most of the sites are quiet this time of the year.

Ehm Does this mean you had the wrong tyres on??

Jaysus but Heated insoles to Maximum!

Way to go Soji It;s actually quite nice without all that snow around and the Midgies are not usually as carnivorous as their Scottish relatives

Not lost, it's away to be cloned :D

Well done Soji, you're proper hardcore :thumb2
I imagine this got the heart going :blast

Never done any of it in 2012, but really looking forward to getting the new bike out to do all 24 this year.

Well done Soji on completing it, hope damage was minimal on your slip

Well done Soji, its brilliant that you got them all done particularly as the weather that week was so bad.:beerjug:

Are you doing some other rally? The picture at the Joey Dunlop memorial has me curious.

Hi Damien,

You are right I was doing the GrimRider MCC Motorcycle History Trail ride for 2013 which has a couple of sites in Ireland. If any one is interested follow the link below. I have been doing it for a number of years and it is also in support of Air Ambulance. You can read all about it on the site.

With regards to the snow I definitely had the wrong tyres on the bike so next year I will have top come prepared with snow chains. It took me ages to get back down though as I had to take of the panniers and drag them down hill and then go back for the bike. Even though it was heart stopping moment the view was great once I calm down. The sun even peeps out now and again while I was up there.

I was surprised I got that far up anyway as I was only 0.2 Miles from the monument.

Only my pride was dented and the left-hand pannier which took the brunt but then that is what I have them for.

2. Derry - 2013 St Aiden’s holy well, 8 Km N of Limavady

Buried in the graveyard of St Aidan’s is Donncha Ó hÁmhsaigh, known in English as Denis Hempson or Denis O’Hampsey, the renowned blind harper from Magilligan and known as last of the bards. He was born in 1695 in the townland of Craigmore, Ballerin, between Garvagh and Limavady, and died in Magilligan in 1807 at the ripe old age of 112. He is buried alongside his daughter and his wife, who he married at the age of 86.

These are the details of his harp "The Downhill Harp".
