Photo Rally 2015

As yer man says we went to Kilbeggan for an American Car & Truck show, not really my area of interest but it got me out of the house for the day....
(as Mandy will tell ya, I don't get out much :comfort)

There was quite a bit of this :

And this :

And a good bit of this :

And loads of BIG ugly yokes I have absolutely no interest in :blast

They don't call him the Eatin Machine for nothing :augie

This one was my second favouritest (mainly cos it's different & pretty rare) :

Any my favouritest of them all :

Met Patzx12 & Mary who came over in their (I think) Continental :

Enough of that, lets get to the PR bit
From Kilbeggan to Kinnity for the tay (he's not eating again is he ?) :

And then onto the Kiln (Photo Rally point 13)

Oh jaysus, here he comes :

Got him :rocketwho
(No, I have no idea why he's lying down in the dusty carpark either !)

Although it had gotten quite overcast by now it was still warm enough & we had no rain except a few drops a mile from home :

From there we had a bit of a bimble around some Blooms back roads, on to Mountrath for another icecream (or 2 in Marks case !) before a somewhat more spirited ride to Stradbally, Athy & home.
Great day to be out on a bike, especially after sitting looking out at the good weather all week.....

Kerry Point

Did the Kerry Point recently.
Might do it again and get a better shot

After standing in the pishing rain in Tandragee all day Saturday I left Aidan's bright & early (for me ) to head to Enniskillen & then do some PR points

First stop was 5 Cavan / Monaghan, St Peters Church (t'was a touch misty):

I had a HU meeting in Enniskillen at 11.00 after which we went for lunch
After that it was on to 6 Fermanagh / Tyrone, Monea Castle :

From there I did a bit of Brian's 'offthebeatentracknw' around Lough Navar before heading SouthWest.

22 Leitrim, Chapel of Ease :

I then tried to find Parke's Castle on the shore of Lough Gill cos I'd never been before but I missed a sign somewhere & ended up going straight to Dromahair :blast
From there is was further south to 21 Sligo, Coleman Heritage Centre :

Then headed towards Foxford where there was a room booked. After very little rain all day it started to lash in Ballina & didn't stop until after I got to the B&B
If anyone's in the area it's worth a visit at 40e for a single - http://www.thefoxfordlodge.ie/

Monday morning & I set off for 20 Mayo, Aghagower round tower :

From there I did the Sheefry Pass to Doo Lough, round Killary to Leenane for elevenses :drool :

Final point of the weekend was 24 Galway, wee house :

The homeward journey involved the Wild Atlantic Way through Galway city (with a quick stop for chowder ;) ) to Oranmore from where I headed across the middle to a tea break in Portarlington & then home.
All in all a good weekend, mixed weather but generally not too bad and some great wee roads.
Which leaves me with 13 done and only 3 Nordie ones & the 8 southern ones still to do......

Great pics all, this one especially, the head on the lad, one 99 wasn't enough for him !!!

Did two rallies too many years ago and loved every mile. Two small children have meant that I missed out in recent years. Hoping to get back in the saddle this summer and would recommend it to everyone. To go where you have never gone before.

I have been a bit remiss posting pics, but here are some examples of shit photo's I have taken so far.

A black pudding and bacon pastry!

Soda........

Are you jealous Mark?

A few great trips to bag these, great company and a few great spins, looking forward to more.

Welcome along IronButt1200 :beerjug:
And I hope you get out there this summer, it's great craic :thumb

Set off on Friday morning and got the Ulster Section point in Cavan :

A quick breakfast stop in Killeshandra :

Then met davidgibson999 in Donegal town for a cuppa before heading out to 1. Donegal, wee shop :

Some nice roads between there & Portrush but unfortunately it rained all the way :(

Saturday morning was NW200, courtesy of Tyco BMW :thumb :
(with the 'winningest' bike of the weekend in the foreground)

As part of our Care in the Community remit Davy & I brought this fella out for the day & even bought him a 99 which made his little face light up like a beacon :D:

Sunday morning myself & Aidan headed around the corner & did 2. Derry, Source sculpture :

From there we did the North Coast road in the rain to Larne for 3. Antrim, Princess Victoria memorial :

Which leaves me with 8 points in the southern half of the country to do….
