I am using Firefox 3.0.11 here at work but am unable to see any images on this site that are hosted on Photobucket.

I have a tab on my Bookmarks Toolbar which takes me straight to the login page for my Photobucket account (Pro account) but when I click on it I end up at this address

http://searchportal.information.com/?a_id=86034&domainname=photobucket.com

I have tried Googling for Photobucket then clicking a relevant link, but still end up at the address above.

Even tried typing Photobucket into IE, but with the same result. I ended up at the address above again. :(

Any ideas as to what is wrong, or what I'm doing/have done wrong?

TIA

I have done a system restore this morning to no avail, then I downloaded Firefox 3.5 but that didn't fix it either. We don't have web filtering or monitoring here at work, so that's not the problem wither. :nenau

But when I enter my login details I get taken to to the page I mentioned above which is blank.

Sorry Clive, but you have lost me there. :o

If it makes any difference, I have no problems logging into any other sites. :nenau

Hmm, google is throwing up a lot of results from
"searchportal.information.com browser hijack"

have you done a recent virus/spyware scan?

I haven't Clive as the AV is on the work server, but I will do a spyware scan.

Thank-you. :thumb2

Well, I have run a spyware scan Clive and a few items were found which have now been quarantined and removed from my machine.

The problem however, persists. :(

I think I'll do a scan with Trend Micro and see if that throws anything up. :thumb2

I scanned with Trend Micro Housecall and ran another malware scan too but still have the same problem. :(

Another guy in the office tried to log into Photobucket from his PC with the same result, which leads me to think that it's a problem with their site and not our PC's.

Unless of course they are both suffering from the same thing which could be resident on our server? :nenau

Could well be that there's a rule in the system that bars viewing pics from that site Aidan.....there are some pretty dodgy pics on there (Not yours, obviously.....you're far to innocent for that sort of thing ;) :augie)

Check in the settings of your firewall and AV software...depends which one you use where they'll be but in general, opening it up from the tooltray and having a root around may find a reference to it ;)

Neither should be going anywhere near "information.com" - most likely a DNS problem - hence me wondering about the results of the ping and flushdns etc

In network settings where you specify DHCP Automatic (I presume) - try setting the DNS from automatic to one of the OpenDNS ip addresses.

Otherwise wait till you get home and try from there ;)

It only takes one right click and a tick in a box to bar images from a particular site.....might be worth asking :nenau
I think it is because xxx.photobucket.com is not resolving to the correct IP address and therefore the image.jpg url is ending up trying to point to a file on information.com, which doesn't exist there.
