PIAA 1200s

Its about time I go my auxilliary lighting sorted out and these look the biz. They are cut-price too at the mo (£66 on the PIAA website). What is the consesnus on these - worth the cash? Any photos available of bikes with them fitted on bars below the beak?

Hey retro, just got meself a couple of these and they are wonderfully made, waiting for the GS bar from MiGSel in belgium, seen a few of thos bars at the BMF this weekend and they looked the business. Together, the bar and lights will be very good. I'll have 'em done by the end og June so if you wanna wait, have a look when we do the 3 nats, if like me you can't wait, buy 'em, you won't be disappointed

Darryl came over to see me today because he has bought some PIAA lights (probably the same ones??) and wanted to see MIGSEL's light bar in situ. The mounting holes for the PIAA lights
don't line up with the bars. The inboard hole needs to be widened by roughtly 10mm to allow the PIAAs to fit.

I went to see Mike B in Cheddar today to check out the lightbar from MiGSel. Its a great bar but the mounting holes on the 1200's are slightly wider than the holes on the bar.
I have e-mailed MiGSel to see if he can do the mod for me as the bar is a toughy to drill according to Mike.

I'm probably going to get the light set anyway because they are a steal at this price, but will hang-fire on the bar, unless Michel can come up trumps ... I'd like to see 'em in situ anyway

MiGSel comes up trumps!

Michel has very kindly offered to get the extra hole cut in the bar for me as the stainless steel is a bitch to drill (Ralphy went through 3 drill bits!).
What a nice bloke!

If you need to drill stainless, get yourself a cobalt steel drill. You'll need to find a proper tool shop, but they are only two or three quid and make a terrible job easy (you need to keep the speed of the drill down and some lubrication helps)
