Picked up my 1200GS SE

Very smart Andy:thumb2

One of those would lend itself very nicely to a custom paint job on the front end.....all sorts of shark/eagle type shapes in there that could be brought out:thumb

You will park it in the garage now, as its raining, and then the little voice will say," not going out on your new bike dear".

Nice bike :thumb

Pillion view

Hi again,

picked our SE on Saturday, complete with free top box (Thanks to Coopers) and paniers. Surprized and pleased to find my helmet fits in both it and the R/H pannier (not at the same time:blast).

Rode it for about 60 miles on Saturday 2 up and 30 more on Sunday. SWMBO (PhusioJo of this parish) is not impressed with the stiffness of the suspension. By the end of Sunday we had set the ESA preload to rider only using the NORM setting. Thats with no luggage. I weigh about 80kg SWMBO a svelt 65:) The tyre pressures were readiing 2.6 and 3.1 on the RDC which I think is a bit high. I will check the info on Anakee 2 tyres before I change anything and read the tyre pressures manually.

The bike handles well. I like the new bar risers which come with built in adjustment. They are on the short arm setting which suits me and SWMBO who will ride it.

Wanted to fit the Touratech crash bars I had on my 2007 GS, but they don't fit over BMW head protectors. so looks I like I will have to choose between head protectors, crashbars or spending even more money. I also has a spare screen for my 2007 GS which I thought I would use to save the new smoked one. The design has changed and the old one won't fit the rubber gromits from the new. Not sure i can fit the old one with out.

Agree with what has been said about the togetherness of this bike. Like the fueling and gearbox and feel the suspension is more stable that my old GS, I feel less need to stand whilst going over bumps.

still got 450 miles to do before service a week today. Really looking forward to it.

Regards,

Path.

Yep SE

Picked mine up last week 300 miles, After 5 years and 40k and no problems with an 04 1200 GS. I hope the SE will be as good. The gear box is a lot better and seat more bum friendly, Engine seems to rev more freely so will be testing the rev limiter more often then! Drive train has less play so more traffic frendly. Roll on the Manx Grand Prix good fun over there.
