Picked up my new GSA

I'm no expert but I presume that the BMW cash bars and other tube fixings are galv coated to a high quality finish, usually referred to as a 'spangle' finish.
Normal galvanised coating would not be good enough for a motorcycle. Fine for a farm gate etc.

I'm liking this, looking forward to seeing the progress.

Is it wrong to covet another man's workshop???

I agree with the other OCD comments, those parts would have to be laid out neatly with a suitable protective material underneath. Oh, can we call it CDO too please, that way it's alphabetically correct too!?

wow awesome - new bike and in bits. respect :bow

I`ve still got a better workshop then you..............:clap

I`m sure the bike will look brill when you have finished fella, well done :thumb2

All those with OCD I hear what you are saying (good job you didn't see the parts this morning thrown into a box to head to the coaters)

Thanks for the nice comments ref the workshop, (MH the pic only shows about a 1/4 of it :augie :D)

I decided in the end to go for Matt Black rather than Satin Black, I will be collecting the parts tomorrow. BTW They will be covered in bubble wrap and cardboard :thumb

Congrats on new bike done 400miles on my new Girl "Olive" since collecting her saturday just given her a rub down, like the new wheels and the mat black but still cleaned em the Mr Sheened! em old habits die hard. got my autocom, Kenwood PMR, Autocom blue tooth module, and Autocom fuse box thingy all under rear seat.. and also gerbings heat controller hidden away panel mount on n/s and PTT all good just got to get the GPS NAV V to be as good as my Zumo 660... not a NAV v fan so far!

Thats a tough decission to make on a new bike well done for just going for it though.

Im taking the same path by blacking it out....not finished yet but getting there. Not such a hard decision on an 09 :-)

Thanks man

Have a black rear passenger cover coming from another tosser selling

Some HIDS from HID50 (Dip beam and spot lights) So I make sure I'm seen at night on my very black bike and some fork protectors

Every time I think I'm finished Theirs more :blast

Blacked these out too with 3M wrap took between 4-6 hours a box

The chevrons are black too but when a car light hits them they reflect white

Got the coated bits back on the bike.

I gotta say that looks better than the stock bike to me. my big bugbear with the looks was the umber bright crash bars...just didn't look right. this is solo much better. great job.

Wow that was quick! Looking good. It just needs a pair of knobblies on it now, and you also need to lose that stupid excuse of a mudguard at the rear.

Are you tempted to get the Olive Green parts painted black along with the sides of the tank? Would look awesome.

Have you done these in satin black ? Are they painted or powder coated ??

Look better than silver and I was thinking of doing the same to mine when the bike arrives !

Nicer than stock. I looked at a blue one on Tuesday and have booked a test ride, but the alloy tank really grates with me , if I do buy one the visible sides of the tank will be getting vinyl wrapped in satin black
