Picked up my Rallye at the weekend

What is so big deal about a few spots :nenau
Soon you will drop the bike and you will have about 20 scratches anyway
Go back to the dealer and give them something to think about , I am pretty sure that they will give you 20 % off to your next item or reduce service bill etc.
Just ride the bike and be happy, there is worse to come :blagblah
It looks to me that the spots are from cigarets , are you a smoker?

Think best thing would be to take the bike back to the dealers and show them the problems and ask for it to be sorted out, give them a chance .
Have bought many bikes from Phil when he was at BlueBell and some had real problems, twisted frames, exploding water hoses, to name a few all which were sorted out without any further issues, he is a good bloke, as is Paul.
I think that it is most definatly the application of DataTag “dots” that is the problem and given the size of the brush they give you, about an inch and a half long, in some of the places makes it difficult to get a good finish as you have to dab the dots.
This is no excuse I know, a more professional approach would be to use a longer, smaller brush, as I do, for awkward positions. I have Datataged at leased 10 bikes.
Just think the demand a new bike, replace the engine, etc. is a bit over the top for what is a few blobs of fluorescent varnish in small patches in out of the way places.
Just in case any suggestions I am not to fussy about the condition of my bikes ask Phil or anyone who knows me, OCD don’t even get close.
Talk to the dealers sure they can sort it, and just enjoy a fantastic bike.
Would love a new Rally but still quite like my 1200GSSE...:thumb2

The datatag dots are annoying, the real problem for me is where there's a chunk of paint / powdercoat missing.

I do suffer from a bit of OCD :) I can ride, and do a fair bit of mileage and am handy with my spanners but spend almost as much time cleaning as I do riding.

Personally I would not want the hassle of trying a rejection etc, I just think it needs sorting, which I am fairly sure they will do because they seem like a good bunch over there, and I am not out to crucify them as they have not had a proper chance to reply.

Like I said earlier, there are about 5 distinct area's on the engine, all of them in plain view, where this stuff has been applied. I thought the idea was to apply it out of sight, I always have done with every bike I have datatagged (which is everyone I have owned)

I just want to get it sorted cosmetically, some bit's are obviously looking like datatag dot's, but some of the others look a bit ropey.

It just needs to be put right, and someone given a swift kick in the happy sacks :)

Any scratches will be machine polished out as soon as spotted :)

Here's my 11 year old ZX12R after a quick session :) OCD - I haz it!!

Sorry :D
When it comes to cleaning I am as bad as you are :thumb , I think I clean my bike and spend time around the bike more then I ride the bloody thing:blast

Shocking

Those blobs are shocking mate, looks like a child has been let loose with a brush!
Maybe they will clean off as I am sure the original finish is OK beneath.
Hope it has not spoiled the new bike experience.
Much better looking bike than the very black one!! :augie

If I was buying a new BMW, they could feck right off with their 'free' Alphadot Datatagging

They wouldn't be applying it to my new bike, under any circumstances

Quick change of subject
Where do you get the poorboys/dodo juice from have seen it at some shows but never seen it for sale. Need to get Sues car minted for some summer trips...

OK back to the scabby bike thread:D

Off Topic :D:D

I get my stuff from here http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/

What I can do is give them a ring and see if there's a way of squeezing a bit of UKGSER discount out of them? They do it for another forum I belong to. If you want to be really sad, have a nosey around here at www.detailingworld.com It's a must for OCD'ers :)

Don't talk to me about OCD bike cleaning; I have a reputation on here!:D:beerjug:

I just spoke to the dealer, and they got the pictures and agree 100% it's not acceptable for a new bike, no quibbles, they are having a meeting about it later this morning (Sales / Service managers) to work out a resolution and get the bike back in.

Top service so far from Cheter Motorrad, I will see how it pans out and post back in here.
