I'd ordered this Road King last month because I preferred a solid color and the ones the dealer had in stock were all two tone. They called today to say it was here and ready to pick up. Anyway here are a couple crappy phone pics, naturally it was raining. I see Lewis (our daughter's cat I've been keeping in my garage for a month) is in one pic, thankfully he's going back to her this weekend! The color is Moroccan something (Beige maybe?) which is sort of cream with a hint of metallic gold. This bike is replacing two Harley's, I traded in my FLHT and am selling the 2004 FXDXI. Rain is supposed to clear out so hopefully tomorrow I'll get to put some miles on it.

Thank you Bin. I looked it up, the colour is "Morocco Gold Pearl". Ivory is probably a more accurate description.

nice - looks identical to my 95 one i sold ... ;)

Thanks Kaister. I wouldn't be surprised they really haven't changed styling much. Even mechanically they're not all THAT much different. One change that I didn't even notice until this evening is the little light on the front fender is not there. I always liked that.
From my short ride home I can tell the seat, while not horrible, will end up being replaced because it had me sliding forward toward the tank. Hopefully the bars (which were changed for 2014) will suit me if I roll them back slightly. The windshield seems OK but tomorrow I'll to see how it works at higher speeds. I'm looking over it but I'd still prefer it an inch or two lower. The new saddlebag latches are nice. For me it sounds throaty enough as it is stock. I may replace the head pipes to eliminate the cat which will make it even slightly louder.

ooh i like that love the colour/color (usa version)very C H I P S , to be honest harley do really horrible colours and in plain white it looks great

No, no, no, no......it's not "White" ! It's "Morocco Gold Pearl"..... !! Don't you know anything.....? Heathen !:P

Did you take in an old hearing aid to colour match,a la Top Gear ?

:D

LOL yes "Morocco Gold Pearl". Thanks att.

Top Gear's an entertaining show, I didn't see one where they used an old hearing aid for color matching.

Anyway considering it has throttle by wire and the tank is supposed to come off I paid the dealer to install HD heated grips ($180 labor ) I'm thinking while they charged the full shop flat rate the mechanic took a short cut and just wired them to the accessory switch as they only work when that switch is turned on. I planned to use that switch for GPS power. The left passing lamp is pointing way far to the left and I could barely get my toe under the shift lever to up-shift. I think I better check the oil, tire and rear suspension pressure. But they "gave" me the $49 suspension pump and a T shirt! :D

Very retro, I think I like it ;)

You should never get anything fitted at a main stealers, thy only have 'technicians' not mechanics. Get down the local indy now and make your apologies :D

Thanks. LOL yeah I should know better. One reason I let them install the grips at time of purchase is they'll have the same two year warranty as the bike. But unless there's a warranty issue on this bike I don't see it going back. I have Harley's excellent factory shop manual on order and I'll do the scheduled services, tires, etc myself.

Seat back needs pulling up on that orange chair

Lawn looks like it needs a cut as well??

Hi Clifton , you may already know but in case ... If you need to reduce the screen height they cut very well with a fine jigsaw blade .
Power take off , there should be a plug under the fuel tank nearest to the seat end , possibly too along the near side frame under the seat second plug is for connection to heated seat if you have one .

Yes, actually the orange cushion was out in the yard this morning because I'd forgot to tie it back on. Tied on now.

Yes it does, I'll tell the wife you said she's slacking on the yard. :D

Yeah I cut the screen down on my previous Harley using my ban saw. A little off was good so more would be better backfired on me so I ended up buying another one. I may cut a couple inches off this one, also considering a shorter Clearview one with the recurve top. I didn't know about the power plug under the rear of the tank? What kind of end is on it? I could use if for my GPS.
