and am quite excited.

I come from a sportsbike background and have bought this to be my workhorse of a bike. I predict that I'll love it though and do some decent mileage on it.

That's all really - I'll whack up some pics once I've got it.
BYE!

Just a warning that you might find it a bit idiosyncratic after sprts bike but it will grow on you big time. After all sports bikes have it all but much of it is unusable as most of a GS's abilities live in the real world.

I didn't initailly like my 1st ride so much back in the late 90's but it was completely different and it grew from there. I have just done a 2k miles round trip the length of the country and it was no probs. It was loaded up with all manner of crap and the weather in places was appalling. It and I did it with relative ease including one 700 mile leg and a 500 mile in pissing rain leg. This is GS country:thumb

And they scratch in the middle of all this as well:D

Good Luck!

Just remember, the more you ride it the better it gets, very good choice by the way :thumb2

I will bet a virtual beer that you will be on here on Sunday night reading the gearchange threads :D
Welcome to GS ownership :thumb2
The more you ride it the better it gets :)

I have it now and like it a lot :)

Commuted into London today after brushing the frost off the bars and the bike gives you so much confidence it's untrue. The sheer size of it takes a bit of getting used to - mainly the width in traffic - and the brakes are 'different' to a sportsbike, but other than that I'm really taken with it.

You'll get used to the size!:augie (Oooerr missus)

The next time you get on a sports bike you'll think you're on a minimoto!!!:D
