On Saturday i will riding my GS down to Allan Jeffries to swop it for my red (wire wheels) TE LC :D Weather looking warmer but wetter. Do i care? Not a jot :aidan
Will be leaving Glasgow nearer 12.00. I will probably stay overnight and come back up on the Sunday. Does anyone know a decent place to stay if possible with secure parking in say an hours ride from Shipley?

Mine is at Allan Jefferies waiting for me to collect it !!!!! Been tryin to get there for the last 2 weeks :tears lol.
If i were you i would head for Kirkby lonsdale as there are loads of b&b, guest houses etc (sorry but iv never stayed in any of them). Have a search coz im sure you will find something suitable. Its around 50 miles from Allan Jefferies and you can visit the famous devils bridge on sunday morning to show off the LC :thumby:

Allan Jeffries are very kindly going to let me pick up the new bike on Sunday. That is to say ride down with my bike on Saturday and drop it off to their showroom. Stay Saturday night at the local Ibis and pick my new stead up on Sunday from the showroom. Now Allan Jeffries don't open on a Sunday so i have to say a big thanks to them for helping me out :D

Pub next to IBIS is OK, but if you walk down the canal towpath to Saltaire, (IBIS overlooks it), there's a nice pub alongside the river. Saltaire is a nice place as well. Only mile or so. Few Indians in area as well, mind you if making your way back to Glasgow Sunday may not be a good idea.
5/10 min walk from IBIS to Alan Jeffries.
Enjoy :beerjug:

From the IBIS, walk towards Shipley town centre, turn right up Leeds Road towards Salitaire and you will find a great pub called Fannys Ale House. Serves superb beer in an old fashioned boozer with no bother and a decent local clientele. Shipley has very few 'Indians' or any other non white British residents, it does have a lot of very working class folk, most of whom are decent.

Aye, we went to Fannys  after The Boat House. (Remembered what it was called now)

Like I said, few Indians. :augie

Thanks for the heads up. Quite partial to a pint or 4 of the black stuff. As you say not a smart idea to get loaded and ride the bike next day :aidan
