Hi all, i've held off for years on getting one and just sol my KTM 950 Adventure at the weekend and picking up my 3500 miles 2013 R1200GS this weekend after a test ride.
My mates have taken the p1ss for climbing on the band wagon.....but after the ride i found it comfortable...ok so i'm getting old...but i like it. :thumb2

Just looking through the forum on add-ons etc...i'm not one for putting stuff and extra weight on i don't need, so i want to know if the add-ons i want are really needed or just "nice to have's"

Oil cooler protector - is it really needed ?
Frame Insert kit - probably a "nice to have"
Rear hugger....which i think when added to the rear with the standard one looks rather odd :eek

Thanks !

rear hugger, mudsling definately worth having.

Congratulations! Good buy! assuming that you already have the engine guards on - only one essential in my book, a R&G rear axle slider.

Have you got a TE? Then a headlight guard would also be in order for those expensive LEDs (bl**dy expensive for a piece of chicken mesh!).

IMHO, Radiator protectors are good to have but not essential.see here for the discussion thread on Radiator Guards for the LC esp #24 by Engineer

Maybe some crash bars ? Uprated shocks make a big difference but expensive.

Thanks for the replies...Rad guard, side stand extender and headlight protector are now on the shopping list...engine bars already on it
No it's not the TE, but has lots of extras...can't wait !, can't sleep...i'm like a little kid !....be a big kid on Saturday with a new toy !

No ex demo...with lots of extra's, having the Garmin 550 Touratwat cradle fitted etc..cheaper than the BMW Garmin unit...best it's perfect or heads will roll !

Ignore delboy I've got a 2013 bike that's sweat as nut!!

I picked my 2013 TE week past.
Had engine bars fitted before pick up.
Got the popular headlamp protector off here.
Plus off ebay a new crud catcher, which was relatively inexpensive. £35 posted
Finally transferred my second hand Wunderlich lifting handle off my old 54 GS and stuck it on.
So home from home as they say.

Well i picked it up and i'm well happy with it....order a headlight protector off here and i've now got the side stand extension and radiator protectors...
So i'll be tinkering in the garage tonight !

Enjoy it:D.
I get mine on my birthday 5th march:beer: can't wait.
On the lookout for sensible extra,s now.
