Smartbazza and I are heading to Picos 9th July for 10 nights. What is the one thing you would not want to miss? Can be a road/town/experience.

Had a couple of good nights here
Cable car there too (discount for residents)
You can store the panniers in a secure room in the hotel
Close to the 10 mile un surfaced between Espinama & Sotres

Hotel Del Oso is the name of the hotel , as wacky as it may seem .
Oso means bear in Spanish .
But yes, you are very feckin simple 😜

In what way ?
Having stayed in hundreds of hotels all over the world , I’d put it in my top three, regardless of price, which is very reasonable.
It has a great location, comfy rooms, lovely food, and amazing staff most who have been there since I first went about a decade ago.
Fabulous place .

Fabulous place .
Stayed there twice in the last 10 years and whilst I don’t disagree with most of your points of observation

However I wouldn’t put it my top 3 - but we’re all different

Better with your partner as pillion, I found it more of a couples hotel, personally

Prefer Potes myself

P210 road from Riano to Cervera de Pisuerga.

Goes around a massive reservoir and has some great Miradors (viewpoints). A lot quieter than roads further north.

At the eastern end is a great Parador. Pay extra for a mountain view as it is superb
Ah, it is closed this year. Many Paradores are having extensive renovations on a rotation.

27km further east is this quirky place in a monastery - Aguilar de Campoo is a pleasant town with a choice of bars etc, although the hotel restaurant was okay with a cheap fixed price menu.

Then ride this route north https://maps.app.goo.gl/TourHhrhxctsbHU17 - it's a place I have used as a last night before a 4pm ferry home from Santander.
