This could be the deciding factor on the model that I choose to begin my GS career with, it's "make your mind up time" right now! I wasn't really interested in a GSA until I sat on the thing........ It certainly has prescence! I'm sure both will suit my purpose of road use only, but............! I've still got that maggot nibbling away with the GSA now! Help!

re gsa

i have had 2 gs 1150 always carry passenger done all sorts with them, now bought gsa what a difference in the comfort area, think itis to do with extra travel on shocks nothing wrong with gs but i prefer gsa thats my 2 pennies worth only u will know what to buy hope this helps

Both of you try the GSA then the 1200. My wife really wanted the GSA for it's looks etc and was happy with it until she sat on the 1200. 2 secs later the choice had changed.

GS is comfier.

There have been a few threads on the subject. My wife really liked the GS1100 seat, but she's not so impressed with the GSA. The pillion pad is much smaller, thinner, and sits above the lock/hinge mechanism. There are extensions, and buttpads available, but as standard, she rates the GS seperate, wide comfy seat.

Aye up Longthing.. I have had both 1150 GS and GSA. The latter my present bike. The only noticable difference is for the pillion. Ths GSA has a smaller rear end seat.I ended up replacinng the standard with a lower version padded out with gel inserts front and rear this made the difference for my other half.

Hope that helps

Thanks gents! Looks as though it will be the GS after all :beerjug:

Hang on a minute!

The GSA seat is better for the rider (IMHO) as you can move about easier and slide back a bit to stretch your legs if you need to, as has been said it's not as good as the GS for the pillion, but by adding one of these..

It becomes very comfortable according to my Mrs, and she compares it to the RT seat, not the GS;)

Have a look at these threads

After all, if you really fancy an Adventure, why let a little thing like your Mrs's arse stop you?

Well said that man. That's why I've got an Adventure....:D :D :D

Had too add a Touratech seat extention and an Air Hawk cushion to my GSA before SWMBO was a happy bunny once again.....as standard the GS pillion perch is miles better than the GSA ....IMHO
