Any one tried these on the 12 yet

wot they like wet/dry grip I like to blat it a bit and carry a bit of corner speed

I'm thinking of getting a set in the next week to replace fooked tourences 5500m from the rear and the fronts flattened on the edges

Tyres for the GS

I printed ouit a table comparing tyres IN THE DRY for the 1200GS (I think?) - but cannot remember from where it came; points were given for each criteria as follows
Manageability;Steering accuracy;Grip-cornering;Grip-accelerating;Breakaway range; Turn in; Corner stability - touring; corner ability - sport; Corner stability - two up; Track over imperfections and finally Straight line stability; Total was 220.
The Pilot Road came TOP with 187 points; then it was Dunlop607, BT020, Avon Distantzia, Pirelli scorpion, Bridge.TW101/52,; Touraces; Anakee.
I cannot understand why I replaced with Touraces ( 149 points) when I had this table pinned up in front of me?

Nice tyres. Very good in the dry for giving it 'jip' around b roads etc. Also good in the wet. But, obviously depends on what roads your on . But the rear has started squaring off and almost to the markers at 3000 miles :tears

the dunlops last 6ooo :nenau

I'm running pilot roads on my 12KR

Cant remember what the dry grip is like - Cant remember the last time the roads were dry....Wet grip is ok.

Wear rate is good - plan repl with metz m6

Not sure whether they were the second variant but when I had them on the GS I thought the wet grip was very good. Dry grip has never freally been a problem with any tyre I've had on the GS but I melted the road pilots at a track day, took quite a bit of metal off the pegs and the brake pedal so I guess the grip was as good as I could use:)

I only got 3500 miles from Dunlops but 8000 from the michelins but they were nearly to the canvas when I got back from a long touring holiday.

Think your all talking about the old pilot roads

the new ones are called road 2 dual compound

you're right BLU, the pilot road 2 isn't yet available in 19inch GS/trailie sizes, at least not according to their web site in the UK

But they are listed on the latest fitment sheet(I've seen it) given to my tyre guy by Michelin this week so maybe the site ain't been updated yet
He's away this weekend with Michelin so's looking for more info on them
says they're in stock and readily available according to the Mich man
