Pinlock protecTINT Anti-fog Photochromatic Visor Insert

Ive used one for 4 years now, saves having to wear sun glasses, I find it takes the glare out and not having to carry two visors when going away, but not as dark as a black visor which I have for really sunny days. This is on an arai helmet.

Hi

Ive got one on the Tour x4 and one on the new RX7v. Ive used them for several years on different lids and find them the best compromise. If its really bright, like I found in morocco, then its black visor time.

I have one too. Its lasted really well, much better than a standard pinlock which are trashed after about a year to 18months whereas the ProTint has been in my helmet for about 3years now (got it at the NEC bike show in 2012) and what must around 60,000 miles. It is still relatively scratch free and fog free. Just the right amount of tint that does vary with brightness although it can stay a bit dark in low light caused by very sombre clouds or as dusk progresses but mostly I don't notice anything until I flip the visor up. I stick a bit of duck tape on the outside of the visor to fill the gap between the top of the insert and the visor's edge to provide further sun shielding. It works quite well.

They don't get very dark. More a light smoke colour. The problem is that the normal helmet visor has UV protection so doesn't allow enough UV through to darken the pinlock too much.

This looks good. Wasn't enjoying my dark tint on the Tour X4 this morning. Given the TX4 is such a ball ache to change visors, i might try this out on my clear visor for winter.
