When are you going? In the summer it is busy and they may not have space, but in quieter times you might be ok to get on but limited choices for a place to lay your head.

Obviously you will pay top dollar by arriving on the day.

Ferry

why not book a passage and then sort out how much time you want to spend getting there?. Would not think you'd have a prob in November very nice ferry.

I just turned up with my bike in mid november 2008 and got on no problem but I did probably pay over the odds. Remember that in november there is only one sailing per week with Brittany Ferries.

I tried this with the tunnel once as I was working down in Kent somewhere for a couple of days, the places are available but I think they wanted to charge me something over £200 for a short booze trip over. I think we were paying something like £50 in advance at the time.

Most things are possible its just the cost.

Looking good, bikes on the bench and Chain and Spockets ordered.

New rear and front wheel bearings and fork seals.

In a party of ten on a lorry, just tried another 5 miles with all the camping gear ion board and not good.

So its a nap sack and credit card.

The idea is to show the bike the sunshine as its been 35 years under a blanket in the old mans shed.

Totally wrong journey for the bike but I`m sure to make a few friends and drink a few beers.

Hope there's a few internet cafes on the way and I`ll have a go at posting some pictures.

www.adventurebikerider.com sticker arrived today so I'm now an adventure bike rider

You'll have a ball mate, wish I was riding back with you...just need to find and old Suzuki 125 'Stinger':D

Re: Planning a trip

We're looking at a trip to Mallorca to take in some mountains in the low season...only trouble is, we've both got CBTs (plus full car licences), so restricted to 125cc or less (depending on power rating) in this country.

We've found bike hire places which can offer us 125s, but also BMW 650s, which sound fun, if potentially suicidal...Can anyone advise on what we can ride?
