My GS is the same year and colour as yours, with the plastic tank, and NO blistering.
You've been reading too many of Howard Millichap's threads!

My 1100 had a plastic tank. No sign of any blistering at all. Apparently if the tank blistered when the bike was new(ish) you had the option of a Metal one. If it hasn't done it by now it probably never will. I think the plastic tanks a much better option on a GS :thumb

N727 TJW. Anybody got it?

My faster 94 tank has had these blister on it since I have got the bike. They are in about the same place on both sides. They don't leak, paint has not flaked so I don't worry about it.

Mine's fine.

My infinitely faster, black 95 model's blister free. Touch wood. I've not heard of this before. :nenau
And here was me thinking you only had to worry about such things on 1150s and 1200s. :eek

Yep....TJW is now mine.....Just changed to a metal tank!! Last year I got T-Boned in Clapham high Street..Luckily he U-Turned in front of a vanfull of transport police and an ambulance..which with my "Rotated and Protracted spine" was quite handy for my swift claim resolution and medical attention!! Anyway bike bounced better than I did,and replaced the tank for cosmetic scrapes and scratches....Thanks for a well kept bike Rob....I'm still cracking on the miles and it is sweet as ever!! If I can work it out I will post piccys in new silver 1150 tanked livery...looks nice! :thumb N727 is now cat free with Remus chip and Viper pipe..Touratech one piece seat and pro tapers...Oh and Maxton rear shock..and B20's...and sport air charger....Oh and K+N..and blue flame plugs...but apart from that its the same bike....Except its now silver instead of black....but apart from that...... good to see you stripped the white powers hugger and hard parts before you flogged it...Is it true that you are a seventy year old ex police bike mechanic who never used any gears above 3000 revs? thats what I was told when I bought it... :D
