Hi All

I had a new tyre put on at my local BMW dealer recently.

While enjoying a coffee I was told they had fitted a new fuel pump foc as the current one showed signs of cracking , the other was fine.

Now mine is an 2004 bike , I was very impressed that , how often do you get warranty work on a ten year old bike ?

We all have our moans about dealers but that is good service.

I think you'll find they replaced the fuel pump seal as part of the UK recall, and then sold you a pack of bullshit...which you fell for :blagblah

My 2009 GSA ia part of the fuel pump recall, but to find this out I had to contact BMW (who fobbed me off by saying if we haven't written to you then don't worry) and then I phoned my dealer who told me straight away that mine was part of the recall. Apparently, you either get the pump repaired of replaced, depending on its condition.

Just picked my 2010 GS up from having the fuel pump checked. I did not wait for my local dealer to call me I just called them, told them I had heard about it, and they said no probs and booked it in. Had a BMW 600 scooter as a loan bike foc and picked up mine 20 mins ago. Apparently they put a new seal or something like that as a matter of course and confirmed mine was fine.

I was not really concerned as I'm sure I would have smelt petrol if there was a leak. Good service all very polite and effortless so I can't complain. I don't use them for servicing but that did not bother them (as it shouldn't).

Ive had absolutely feck all contact about recalling my 08 GSA for the fuel pump.

How would I know if it should be recalled in case the dealer isn't (is?) playing the game?

Neither have I. But I heard about it so phoned my dealer who said "Yep, its on the recall (campaign) list so bring it in". Maybe BMW are drip feeding the letters out?
