Hi guys I'm really hoping you can help me out here.
I have a r1150gs which a few months back I fitted a new flywheel to, since then I have never got it back on the road.
After full reassembly I attempted to bleed to clutch slave cylinder but even thought the lever did pump up and seemed to hold pressure, when ridden it was evident that the clutch was not disengaging and was dragging substantially!
I even replaced the slave cylinder with a new one as a precaution.

I tried reverse bleeding it and still no joy.
I have now fully stripped the bike again to see if any of the clutch components were either installed incorrectly or where warped, the pushrod was very stiff and open removing the gearbox it remained stuck in the pressure plate, so I tested it for true and everything was bang on! :nenau

Are there any specific ways or things to look out for when performing this job, or are there any know specialists in the southwest of England who would be willing to take this job on?

Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Thanks
Chris

Bleed the clutch before you refit the slave to the rear of the gearbox - it also helps if you push in the slave cylinder piston and clamp it ( I use a socket to push the slave piston in and then a pair of mole grips one arm at the end of the slave cylinder and the other arm holding the socket pressed against the piston) then bleed the slave cylinder =!there’s no air in the piston to get trapped .

Thanks, I'll try that, I'm now at the point where the subframe bolts are going back in so I'll back track and try that technique :)
