I find myself visiting the Thames Valley with old friends who have travelled far and wide to get to a place where we can meet.

This is somewhere I know very little about so I’m interested in POIs that are in the region, roughly between Abingdon & Reading. Motorbike friendly museums, dealers, cafes anything that isn’t too cultured that might interest your average tosser.

Thanks in advance.

Slightly west of the area you define, the Classic Motor Hub in Bibury looks like a decent place for a coffee stop.

It features on a few Henry Cole episodes.

The H cafe is the areas equivalent of the ace, on the road between Oxford and Reading. Obvs weekends are busier. The cafe itself is shit though.

Although if you like your food cooked properly, I’d prefer https://www.waterfrontcafe.co.uk/
That would be my choice too, the Waterfront at Benson, but it can get busy at weekends. McDs is nearby, at the RBT if necessary.

H Cafe, formerly Foxes, is pretty disappointing these days, but remains convenient & next to Infinity Oxford at the old Deacons Garage site.

@Berin is probably best placed to comment. When it comes to pubs, most of my old haunts have either closed or gone gastro. The King William IV at Hailey was a firm favourite, along with the Highwayman near Woodcote.

Aston Martin museum in Wallingford

Depending on what day, the Bell at Aldworth usually has people turning up on interesting cars and bikes, and if not it’s still worth going as it’s the last traditional pub in England!

Henley Classics has a nice cafe

Goring is well worth a visit

As other have said, H cafe will have bikes but don’t eat or drink there!

White Horse at Uffington is interesting- big white horse carved into a hill

King Billy is still going strong, lovely views and still has a pub area. Highwayman also nice, but is really a restaurant these days.

Thanks, classic motor hub and the Aston Martin museum are definite possibilities. Food en route rather than the destination. Funny how many biker cafes are crap, none worse than Loomies.

We stayed at Dorchester on Thames so rode by the H cafe, sadly the Aston Martin museum was closed. We rode to Brooklands Museum, which was excellent. Thanks for the suggestions, The Classic Motor Hub is still to be done.
