I've got a Sony wx220 but it seems to be expired. Does anyone have anything similar they would part with? I can't really justify huge money, but I do like having a dedicated camera.

Aye, you're not wrong. But what I'm offered determines the budget. I was thinking that folks would say "I've got X and you can have it for £Y", which hasn't happened. DickTheLeg is the only person providing an asking price. Let's put it this way, I'm somewhere between the two cameras DickTheLeg is offering. People, feel free to provide an asking price either here or in a private message.
I've also had a brainwave that my Sony may just need an external charger, I don't know if to try that. It would be cheap if it solves the problem, but a waste of money otherwise.

I’m no expert but my 2p worth is ….your camera is according to the Webb a good model. Soooo try and get it fixed or just replace it with another. They seem to hover around the £150 mark second hand. JJH
Thank you to everyone who has posted here or sent me a message. Happy for more input, so do message me but please be aware that I'm waiting for an external charger for my current camera and have my fingers crossed that will sort it out. If it doesn't, I'll have a think about what has been offered and follow up.

I bought the camera above, it’s not that I’m too ‘diffident’ to ask, more that you don’t really know what you want. You had several offers and then decided it might be better to repair your own. Maybe you should have explored that avenue first?
I’ve been thinking of buying a decent compact, I waited to see if you responded to the offer, when you didn’t I made an enquiry and subsequent purchase.
