Out and about with the old SPIII today. I was getting awful performance. It is windy mind you. Anyone else ever had similar? Or is my unit just on it's last legs?...

What has the wind got to do with satellite reception....? 
I sometimes get poor reception with my 2610 usually in cities,Glasgow is a nightmare.Take a look and see how many sats you have up when you loose reception,if you can.But I asked Garmin about this problem and they said that an external aeirial may help.

It has worked fine for over a year up until today. And the wind is the only unusal condition I can think of that I've never used it in before. That's why I mentioned it.

The aerial on the spIII is probably on its way out, get an external GPS aerial
