Positioning of tax disc holder

ISTR a requirement for it to be mounted forward of the seat post :nenau harking back to when motorcycles had such things. :rob

Seat post, is probably where one's postillion is sat. You know, the bod that is struck by lightning in (very bad) phrase books.

Laws and tax discs are different here in Malaysia, you have to have the tax certificate, a small rectagle paper the size of a credit card on you when in or on the vehicle, they are most often attached to the key or in the bods wallet.

On my GS I carry it in my bike jacket packet attached to my pannier key. On my Bonnie I keep it in my wallet.

Now that didn't help a bit did it. But at least you know.

and this is now 6 pages.

Oh ye of the valleys...what oil are you using?

It's all bollox anyway....keep it in your wallet like the majority of the rest of us.

ANPR has rendered the visual checking of the tax disc largely a dead practice:thumb2

In 7 years of having my disc in my wallet, i've never even been asked about it once

I find oberon holder best, and never had an issue with police over display.
Yes the picture is old, hence out of date disc. The bracket I used to mount the holder on the subframe is a cateye lamp bracket I got from a cycle shop

Hope this helps

Prop

Did the exact same thing with the exact same bracket except mine hands down the way - uncanny:jibber

i just keep mine in a normal holder, bolted to the bike, wherever i deem suitable.
in 40 years of riding bikes, i've only ever lost one disc. this loss was helpfully pointed out to me by a helpful policeman, who also issued me a fixed penalty for non display

fuck knows where you blokes live/travel that tax disc theft is such an issue?

.

There are no stupid questions only stupid answers.

Wrong. One fine example - "How do i get my 1200 off it's center stand" :D

My rule is, I don’t say anything on the internet to anybody I wouldn’t say to their face.
:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

If you've ever been to a GSer event you'll know that asking such a question in the company of GSer's will get you far more "robust" replies to your face than has been posted in this thread.

Or perhaps you just don't get it. In which case has it occured to you that you maybe on the wrong website.

I concur.

Same applies to you as well. :thumb

Hi, I tried to PM you but it appears not to be enabled. Sorry about the abuse you have received on here, If I can be any help with your questions let me know.
My holder is fitted to the exhaust valve controller motor bracket (just follow the cables from the exhaust valve)
Try and get your PM enabled.
PS don't ask any questions about oil :hide

There are some proper TOOLS in this web site, too many to pick out just one. I am sorry if the guy who started this post asked something that you tossers think is so stupid to require ridicule.

There are no stupid questions only stupid answers.

This thread proves this in spades. It seems some people don’t have enough in their lives if all they can do is making smart arsed comments.
I would like to ask people like WAPPING, why are you on this site? I hope you have never asked a question, surly YOU are so self reliant not to require any help of any kind. Wouldn’t it be easier to answer the question and be generous with the accumulated knowledge of the assembled BWM owners.

I am new to the whole BMW thing and may be asking some STUPID questions. I will be asking to increase my knowledge. I may have some thoughts on a particular subject but it never hurts to ask for advice from people with more experience (well it dose on this site).

No wonder other bikers generally perceive GS riders as tossers.

My rule is, I don’t say anything on the internet to anybody I wouldn’t say to their face.

Jayzuz
You have posted questions for help in previous threads, folks have responded favourably, now you throw all your toys out the cot in hysterical brattishness, at those same peeps.

Not another outraged Mutley clone are you.? :blast
I'm not going to explain as you seem a little upset.
