Wow have to get me one of those 1250's how much extra was warp speed. Although worth it to do 54,000 miles yesterday
Sorry couldn't resist
Smashing looking time traveling machine by the way
Good to see a positive 1250 thread. I thought I might be the only one!
I'm aware lots of folk have had problems, but I just haven't.
2020 GS. Toured most of UK and Ireland and a few European trips and no failures of any kind.
Run a 1250RT many similarities in engine and auxiliaries, brakes, transmission ect, very reliable machine, been all over EU on it no problems except one early battery swap which was common across GS/RT's covered by warranty 2019 / 11000 miles
Team Duvet you have me beat by 20K miles The bike has been flawless except for accelerated tire wear and I am still on my first set on brake pads unlike Stick who should be more on the gas instead of the slow pedal… And the I feel even more positive about the 1250 as I finally had the chance to give the 1300 the beans ! Except for a little more front tire lift in gears 1-2-3 the 1250 is as good or even better than the 1300 GS Which is kind of sad because after 4 1/2 years I wanted to buy a new BMW…
Brilliant bike. I did 30k faultless miles on mine. I only swapped because the adaptive height thingy on the new one makes it easier for me. Even when i was sliding down the road at 60mph i was thinking , what a great bike to be doing it on (or off)
I'm on my second one. First was a 2019 Exclusive, which I foolishly sold in 2022 with 25k miles.
I traded it for a Tiger GT Explorer, which was ok but not my cuppa. I traded that one after a year (and 11k miles) for a 2023 Trophy, despite being aware the R1300GS was just about to be released.
I bought a 1250R and think it has a great motor, time will tell though. But I think it's a keeepr after having a K1300GT which was going to be (sooner or later) a licence loser. I needed something to bring me back down to earth.
Back in 2015 with a fly splattered front after another enjoyable euro trip of a few K miles. The dealers have always looked after me well for the few warranty bits ive needed along the way. GS/GSA have always been the best looking adv type bikes in my opinion and the all-round package is superb.
