Possible new bike.......

I know.
On paper they're very similar and I've ridden both bikes back to back on a few occasions and have decided they're chalk and cheese.

The Rallye is very focused, it needs to be ridden hard and fast, comparatively the 640's a comfy old sofa more suitable for UK trails.

He's not wrong you know. :thumb

Is that an admittance that you're getting old?? :D
Feck off you ginger git and no I'm not getting sensitive in my middle years;):D

It's hard work riding it in UK as it is now at bimbling speeds, so I could turn it into a great allrounder by spending a bit more sorting the current suspension ...then it would lose that focus which gives me a hard on every time I even sit on it:blast.......or would it?

Hmmm I've already spoken to KAIS suspension about sorting it for my needs.
The issue is: making it more compliant with rough ground 'and' being able to take those big hits at speed (which it does now). I'm sure it can be done without much expense.

If ever a bike 'does it' for me, it's this one:drool

.....rambling now so I'll shut up:blast:D

Isn't a bike suitable for UK trails going to be less than 400cc?

650s will always be too much of a (road) compromise, whether they're the chalk or the cheese varients.

(He says riding an HP :augie)

I think if the choice is the Rallye or the Adv, I would keep the Rallye. How often are you going to have the opportunity to have a Rallye bike? And given you feel that the Rallye can be made workable for UK trails... and how much you like it... I would keep the Rallye.

Unless there is some other compelling reason to switch to the Adv... trying to pull your Rallye out of rut, I seem tor recall that it wasn't the lightest of bikes :augie

I may be forced to sell my SE950 in the foreseeable future.

But I guess it's just a poseur's bike so of no interest to anyone.

:D
