All 1150/1200's series boxers equipped with ABS brakes,powered by Servo Assistance (Powered Integral) braking systems, I would expect.

This has taken a long time to surface.
The service chappy at Vines told me there would be a 'safety check recall' starting in December when I was speaking to him in early October.

Belgium BMW riders received an annex to their manual stating the ABS brakes could refuse duty after repeatedly activating the ABS. They say this could only happen during riding courses but not in real life situations...

Most things seem to break when I least need them to, don't tell me my BWM won't brake when I really need it to.

Sent it back to BMW because I sold thebike last
Monthdue to so many probs with ABS.
Waiting for none ABS HP.

With regards to the MCN article of this Wednesday (21 December) I would also confirm contrary to the suggestion of the article "the brake failures" occurred during an extensive demonstration period and not whilst riders were training with the machines. The alleged battery failure was not a technical failure rather than the battery becoming discharged from the repeated operation of the ABS pump over a short time period. This article has been very misleading to the public and we have received many telephone calls from customers who have taken delivery of brand new motorcycles who will not have received a letter.

I suspect that the only time the ABS would repeatedly be activated by anyone would be off-road (for UK riders anyway), for which they recommend switching the ABS off, so I can't see why anyone is worried at all.
I suspect some people may be getting the ABS operation mixed up with the Servo operation.

I know of 2 people who's servo brakes failed while driving in london traffic - due to excessive use !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! - ( both K1200RS's )

I assume that you mean the Servo failed, ie Stopped working due to them developing faults, not as a result of the battery voltage dropping too low to operate them, which if my understanding is correct is what this warning is about.

both got rid of their bikes soon after
