As a now proud owner of a F800GS(sold my 1200gs and traded up) I'm looking to wire a permanent navigation supply in. I've took the battery cover off and see what looks like a spare take off clipped in above the battery with a cover cap. Does anyone know what part no lead I need from BMW to connect to my satnav?

Being lazy, I just bought a Canbus lead for my Garmin 550. Took 10 minutes to install (I know, I'm slow ....). Worth the money for less of my time.

Came from Touratwat if I remember correctly.

Well done for seeing the light and getting a more versatile bike ! :D

This is the CanBus lead you need, don't worry about the fact it says Garmin 660, I just used the same one to connect Spear Rulers Zumo550.

Whats wrong with the F800/650 accessory socket. I use it to power my Garmin without any problems. Its been through very heavy rain storms and despite the plug looking like 1940s Bakelite device has never failed or tripped out. Its powered via the Lambus system so you cannot drain the battery by accident. £3+ from ebuy and very easy to wire.

Wire it direct to the battery, Same as trickle charger, Saves an awful lot of Pi**ing about. :flag

I'm fitting a Britannia composites mirage 2 screen and fix the tomtom holder permanently to the dash with the wires hidden behind. I have a adventurer 7000 satnav for OS mapping, so then I can use the accessory socket for that.
