Well I visited today for the first time since the glasgow branch closed , had my service completed and I must say the chaps are very friendly and helpful.

Already had some experience dealing with Mike for parts, (top bloke) , met Tony today from service, equally nice chap .

Good coffee and a nice wee shelter for the smokers to keep out of the snow in the form of a metal container in the car park. First class !!!

THEN I GOT THE BILL:eek:, well if your going to get it right up the arse , you couldnt find a nicer place.:D

£300 bangers btw for an annual service at 6k miles.:thumb

Yea they must have kept Steve Smith through the back whilst you were there. It's nice to see that his Tourettes Syndrome didn't stop them from taking him on though.

I took my 2006 GS to them for a 30,000 mile + annual service last year prior to selling it..........

£350 :thumb2

Some might say "do it yourself" - but when it comes to selling a bike..... the dealer assurance does count for something. :rob

I can't be seen to be too praiseworthy of Dalkieth - I went out there two years ago for a spare part......... and came home the owner of a new bike! :blast

Good lads out there :thumb2

Al :)

I'll give them some credit for offering to come and collect my son's non-starting S1000 tomorrow and try to fit a new starter button. Seems to becoming a well known problem. Fingers crossed.

But my 2006 GS has moved to DIY or independent Condition Based Maintenance. I'm saving a fortune. Accurate service history is more important to some buyers than dealer stamps in a wee book.

+1......

Had an issue with service details on a bike bought from the west before it shut down. Dalkeith sorted it no qualms with a bacon roll and coffee thrown in for good measure.

Both S1000 handle bar switches replaced FOC thank you very much Mr Bumwee. And I got to ride it home the long way yesterday :)

But fitting a new section of nose fairing would have costa mucho so that was a DIY job for us in afternoon.

And an annual oil change service was also sounding a bit steep, so that'll be DIY in future too.

Could their attitude and service be the reason I drove 100 miles to Dalkeith to buy my bike last year and then get them to service it rather than use the dealer 30 miles down the road ?????

Visited Dalkieth a month or so ago and had a similar experience. Very nice chaps and excellent customer service. It is expensive but we all know it will be before we go. My issue would be with BMW not the dealer for requiring an expensive annual service and the 6k service interval. But I knew that too before I bought the bike.:blast :D

Dalkeith

No complaints from me they have just collected and first serviced my K1600 and delivered it back home ,( 187 miles round trip ) the pre arranged price was very reasonable £108 and John the man in the very large white van was a gent !

great service:D

I travel from Shetland ,and have bought four bikes there. Back in May for a service.:beerjug: Always stay at the County Hotel just along the road.

Got my letter from BMW Motorrad inviting me to complete a customer satisfaction survey following my recent service there and I got a bit embarrassed with the number of "Very satisfied" boxes I was ticking.

This did not include the first question "Satisfaction with your motorcycle" which was a silly question to ask on the day that my fuel gauge has packed up again. I thought I could ignore it and use the trip but you have no idea how annoying that little amber triangle and the flashing "fuel" warning gets after 300 miles. Perhaps two fuel sensors and a rear wheel bearing in 17000 miles does not merit a "fairly dissatisfied" rating but it made me feel better. As if anybody at BMW Motorrad will be interested.

Aha - when you say "Struan", do you really mean "Calvine"? :augie
