ideas about what we MUST see! (after the rugby last Sunday I imagine that you Irish will be pleased that us English have given you a chance to win the championship?)

Brian
We're pleased right enough.
Galway city is worth a day; after that head west and north west; along the coast and into the Connemara mountains.
Roundstone, Clifd en, Leenaun, The Inagh and Maum valleys. Perhaps a trip to Innisboffin island from Cleggan.
There's five days worth there.
Do enjoy and thanks for beating the French; oh and loosing to us.:beerjug:

We will be making our first visit ever to Ireland next week - Tuesday 20th to Tuesday 27th , flying from Grenoble (we live South of Lyon) and will be staying in a rented cottage in Spiddal, a few miles from galway, for five days. Unfortunately we will not be on my GS as Ryanair restrict us to 15kg each so it will be a hire car.
Please excuse me butting in on this thread but it seemed like a good way to make some contacts and perhaps get some ideas about what we MUST see!

Brian,
Hughes' Bar in Spiddal is a good bar for a drink. O'Grady's on the Pier in Bearna is a top restaurant. If the weather is reasonable, a day trip to the Aran Islands is a great day out. You can get the ferry from Rosaveal about 20 km from Spiddal.
You're right, it was great to see England put Les Bleus to the sword on sunday.
I've passed Vienne many times on my way to Nice and Marseilles. Tis nice by the Rhone there!

Many thanks to you and others for ideas; Next time you're passing drop in - no; not the Rhône, our pool!

I think this video is of Shinobi doing a rolling wheel spin on the beach, easier to see if you don't zoom in.
