I have had my F800 GS since february and put 14,500 miles on it and still on the same set of Battlewings! Suffice to say they now need changing but since I am having to sell the bike soon (due to change of work circumstances) I am seeking a bit of advice:

I use the bike for road only but many peeps use theirs off road. With this in mind would it be best to advertise it for £200 less and let people put their own choice of tyres on?

For the record, I have found the battlewings good in wet and dry. No chicken strips on the back and just little ones on the front. No probs!

advertise at full market value and let the buyer haggle you down by £200. Gets that nonsense out of the way.You will be happy and the buyer can brag about it down the pub.

Keep the originals as if the prospective buyer doesn't like them they might try and knock the price of the ones they want off.

Saying that, if I was buying another 650 / 800 I'd happily have the Battlewings on as they do seem to last, with good grip on the road and no chicken strips :)

You aren't far away so I would be interested in a pre buying query, how old, how much and what's the colour.

I would probably want tourances on as they seem to have a high vote in here.

As for price I don't think you will get back the full cost of tyres on your asking price because it doesn't seem to work like that. I would keep the originals albeit rather worn and let the new owner have the difficult decision about which tyres to get.

Sorry about the job by the way.

When I brought my bike the rear tyre was knackered..

The seller gave me the choice.. he would put a new rear tyre on for me - but don't expect anything off the price.. or could have the bike as was (and sort my own tyre out) and drop the price by about 100 quid (can't remember exactly)..

Either way, we could then start the discussion on the price..

Thanks everyone. Decision made. No new tyres and a bit of good old fashioned haggling.

also to Greger, will join up and PM you about the bike as I was going to advertise it on here first anyway.

Thanks all
