No one is forced to buy one and pay this price but lots of folk will, cause they're damn good bikes and considered by many to be worth the price.
If it seems too expensive for you go buy a Yamazuki.

In my opinion that is a fucked up view of motorcycling.

Why? do explain :nenau as the above seems quite a rational point of view:thumb2

Does anyone really believe the new model is expensive compared to the outgoing model? BMWs have always cost a little more than other Euro brands but now they are about the same as similar Truimph or Ducati models.
Money is there to be enjoyed so Good Luck to whoever buys the new GS and health to enjoy it :beerjug:
I get the feeling a lot who are on this thread mocking the price are just jealous or tight wads :augie

Money. You can't take it with you.......

I don't want a new bike, but I hope there are plenty of folk out there that do, so I can continue to enjoy the BMW bike I own and the dealers will still be there for me should I need them.

well said that man, lots of people just like to moan about the price of everything then they will tell you how much there house is worth.
.

I bought a pound of sausages on tuesday, cost me the best part of three fecking pounds fifty. Mind you, they tasted very nice as i sat in my half a million pound house eating them.

Considering that the R1100GS was the best part of £9500 new in 1994 I think the prices have been kept fairly reasonable in comparison. Still a lot more than I can afford though :(

Exactly. That would be £15,200 today. Anyone remember the price of the original FireBlade?

Well I'm looking forward to picking mine up on the 28th march from oceans, so I'd better get back to work and go earn the rest of what it's gonna cost,
It's my last one as the misses says :censor:
So feck it
And all the dream stealers, ba hum buggers and just jealous gits can go swivel:pullface:hide
:flag

.... The new 1200 will be about £13,850 I recon.
"Prices for the new R 1200 GS have been announced today, the R 1200 GS TE which we believe will be the most popular specification with the LED headlight / Day-time running lights / Cruise Control / Dynamic ESA & ABS plus a host of other features is £13,815.00..."
Only £35 out then :augie

if bmw have a demo avalable it is in there intrest for people to ride it, if it is good people will buy it, lots of bikes are brought on the scheme and the rider never owns the thing anyway so the price means nowt if you can afford the monthly payment w/c on the drive.
glad i took the triumph 1200 explorer out for a demo...i thought it would be really good....
have/do what you want, you are along time looking at the lid.
only ever paid cash in full for my bikes dealers hate it, one let slip that people that pay by this method are known in the trade as dinosaurs, to which i replyed i might be a dinosaur but i i am a dinosaur that owns a bike not bmw's bitch with an agreement
